Benefit's Bella Bamba Blush

Look at that alliteration, it was as though this blush was designed to be involved in a blog post.

This product was bought completely on whim during an impromptu hang out/mini mini shopping spree with a friend of mine. Boy, was that day fun and filled with a lot of surprises in terms of the beauty products that seemed to be wildly available. Both my friend and I did extremely well in the clothes and beauty department. A rarity indeed. This day reminds me of a quote from the Sex and the City The Movie that Charlotte says to Carrie: "nobody gets everything that they want." Now she was talking about something going wrong during her pregnancy, I am talking about not getting all the makeup products I sight out to get. A different contexts, but it still applies.

I had a moment of reasoning in Superdrug's when I opted out of buying a blush and two eyeliners from Sleek and getting my first high end makeup product (disclaimer: that I have bought myself). I walked into Debenhams and it was love at first sight. My friend was telling me about all the blushes and the nicest Benefit counter woman helped me select this gem of a product out.

OH MY GOD! I love it!! It is the prettiest pink combination, that just gives you the slightest hint of pink in your cheeks. You definitely don't have to pile it on because as you see from the swatch, it is pretty pigmented already. It is a great color for the spring and summer. For the low price of 23.50, it is worth it. A blush that I am going to be using probably all the time, I wouldn't regret my choice. Plus, I would could easily spend all my money on their products.

Go Benefit :)! Happy customer!

We Are Back in Business

Welcome back my loyal bloggers! I am back to where it all began - Hair Anonymous. This was my first blog and I guess in some way this is the one and only blog that should be out there. For me. A lot of time was put into it and it really gave me an appreciation for blogs; the commitment and the joy of the hard work. As you can see it has been revamped a little bit, thanks to my talented friend and fellow blogger Sam. I think all it really needed was some TLC, don't we all in a way?

Here it is! As my friend said in a perfect way "HA - back from the dead". We are here for the long haul, so don't think you can get rid of us that easily!! I am giving you the bloggers' promise that regular blog posts will be happening :). (It is now in writing, that makes it official).

Sit back, relax and let's get our blogging on!

MUA Professional Line: Felt Eyeliner

I believe a couple months ago MUA (Makeup Academy) developed their "Professional" line which is now available in Superdrug stores and on Superdrug.com After searching and searching for the line in Superdrug store, a friend and I finally found it hidden in the Oxford Street branch.

I have always been impressed with MUA, especially for all their products being £1, your expectations are low but boy are you impressed after trying them. I have a number of their lipsticks, lip gloss, eyeshadows and I had one of their blushes (that reminds me, I need to get a replacement). The eyeshadows are so pigmented that for £1, it's a good eyeshadow that doesn't break the bank.

As for the MUA Professional, a number of the products were actually sold out when we had arrived but something did catch my eye.

MUA Extreme Felt Eyeliner, £2.00
I am so impressed with this felt eyeliner. You can see it in action in my previous blog post. It has been my go-to eyeliner every since my purchase. When I first applied it on my top lash line, I felt it created bumpy lines but over a month I just practiced and practiced; gradually the lines became more smooth. Also, with the felt tip eyeliner it gives you more control over the lines and creating the wink look as never been so easy to create.

Above you can see how defined the line is. In addition, it stays on FOREVER...that's great but when I make a mistake applying it, I can't fix it quickly; especially if I am in a rush. A lot of the time I have to wash off with soap to get rid of it. That is kinda of a pain but other than that I don't know how I would live without this eye liner.

MUA's felt eyeliner is such great quality. I have been interested in this type of eyeliner since seeing Collection 2000 ones.

Can't wait to try more of MUA Professional line :).

Don't Push It.....

Hey, everyone! As you can see from all the blog posts I have been posting in a spane of an hour, I am back in action. It feels rewarding doing blog posts once again, I just needed some momentum. In such a yucky, sticky hot climate (which LA is right now) it is hard to get the momentum to do anything. Let alone sitting down and concentrating on blog posts.

This next blog post has nothing to do with makeup, clothes, etc but more advice column type blog post. I think I have been watching a little too much Sex and the City but there is something weighing on my mind (no pun intending - you'll understand that when I start talking about it).

Weight. That is going to be the topic of discussion. Lord knows it has been for a couple weeks in my household.

I have been for years criticized or bullied or picked on because I am a little chubby not huge, I just have a little meat on my bones. Do I think I could lose 5 - 10 lbs and be happy? Sure, couldn't everyone? Maybe. But that's not my place to really say.

We live in a society that is fixated on people's appearance, which celeb has lost/gained weight and it's become bad enough that girls (my age or younger) feel they need to look how people look in the magazine. Parents, I feel from my own personal opinion care more than we do about ourselves.

But my thing is....it is NOBODY'S BUSINESS. Nobody's!! If you get comments like "oh, you should really lose a couple pounds?" "Why are eating that?" "Why aren't you exercising today or enough?", just think to yourself: are you happy with yourself? If the answer is "yes", ignore their comments. I know it is easier said than done but the moment you get rid of their negativity and their baggage, you'll feel freer and more apprecitive of what you have than before.

I struggle all the time with my emotions when people criticize me or say something that hurts my feelings. It is a challenge but once you get over the obstacle, they will no longer have any power over you :).

Creating Looks with Wet n Wild Eye Palettes

After having those two eye palettes that I introduced in the previous blog posts for a couple weeks, I still didn't have an understanding of how to use them. I realize that they have "Lid", "Crease" and "Brow" as guidelines, I was still confused.

By being confused, I was starting to feel negative towards them. Last week everytime I went out, I committed to using them. The saying "practice makes perfect"is so true in this case. I had a revaluation with them.

I thought I would share how they look, ready? Here we go.

"I'm Getting Sunburned"
And,

Sweet as Candy

I also wanted to show the comparison between the two, side by side.

Wet 'n' Wild Color Icon EyeShadow Palettes

A friend of mine had talked about Wet 'n' Wild eye palettes and while I was in Rite Aid, I thought I would take the opportunity to try them. It took me awhile to write this review because it has been kind of a touch and go start.

I got two of the Wild 'n' Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Palette collection, pictured below.

                                 "I'm Getting Sunburned"

    "Sweet as Candy"

In another blog post I am going to show you guys the looks created by these two eye palettes. All the colors are very pigmented, because they are so pigmented you can use them individually. By using them individually it makes the palettes last longer.

I love how these two particular eye palette compliment each other very well. The "Sweet as Candy" is a lot more calmer and natural version of "I'm Getting Sunburned". The latter is more glittery and darker, definitely a night out eye look.

These eye palettes retail at $4.99 and they are definitely worth it. Go it yours now. They are available at Rite Aid or CVS.

The Body Shop Mini Haul

While I was in Toronto, my cousins and myself went out a little outside the city to where my Aunt lives, which is Mississauga. As they are musicians, they had rehearsals for a gig they were doing that evening, so they stuck in me in one of the biggest malls called Square One for 3 hours. I knew being in a mall that long I could do some serious damage....and I did. I did throughout the whole trip but this was the first.

I guess that's what vacations are for: to eat and shop.

One of the shops I stopped into was The Body Shop (all I wanted to do was look around, not really buy anything).  We have The Body Shop in London but I have never been interested in buying because the products are somewhat expensive for the quanity of their products.

However, there was a really great deal going on (I think it is still going on), it was buy 2, get 1 free or buy 3, get 2 free. I totally took advantage of it. I got 2 of the same eyeliners, 2 body butters and a body lotion. The body lotion I have actually lost. That seems to be a theme in my life lately.

One of the body butters I got was actually in the miniature collection, which was in the deal of 3 for $10. The first one is called Satsuma Body Butter (pictured below). I don't know what Satsuma is but it smells orange to me and there's an orange on the cover. It smells completely amazing and it makes my skin so soft. Also, my skin sort of shines in the sun when I go out.

Another body butter I got was Pink Grapefruit Body Butter (pictured below). I also got the lotion in this flavor, I believe. I am so impressed with the body butters. I really want to get some more. My friend was telling me how she has so many body butters and that they are really delicious. I am now on the same page as her.

The last product I got was 13 Eye Definer Eyeliner: Brushed Amber. It retails for $11 and I have to say it was worth every penny. I got one for myself and one for my friend, I really wanted to try their makeup for awhile. At first I was very skeptically about trying it because $11 for an eyeliner is a bit pricey.

As you from the picture above it is a goldish/brown color. The pencil is soft but firm enough that it doesn't break while I sharpen it like my 17 Photo Flawless Eyeliner

From the swatch above you can see how pigmented the color actually is. I mostly use it on the bottom lash line to bring out the color in my eyes. Sometimes I will use it on both lashes and I am very impressed. It lasts a really long time, I could way it all day and it wouldn't fade.

Two thumbs way up for The Body Shop products!!!
